Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee endorses the Employee Free Choice Act

On Saturday, I was at the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee meeting in Lancaster when they voted to back the Employee Free Choice Act.

There were about 500 people in the room when the resolution was introduced. Nobody spoke against it! Nobody voted against it! It was a great day for both American workers and the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.

I will fill in this post with more details later.

Kyle Foust announces labor endorsements in Pennsylvania 3rd Congressional District Democratic race

Only Congressional candidate to receive any Labor endorsement. Below is a breakdown of the number of members each of the Unions that has issued an endorsement represents.

UE Local 506 and 618; representing over 4,000 workers at GE’s Lawrence Park plant.

Great Lakes Building Trades; representing 3,000 members and 16 building trade unions in Erie, Crawford, and Warren Counties.

Painters Local 549; representing 80 members in Erie and Crawford County.

Iron Workers Local 3; representing 300 Iron Workers across Western Pennsylvania.

Carpenters Local 81; representing 350 members in Erie, Warren, and Crawford Counties.

Greater Pennsylvania Regional Council of Carpenters; representing 12,500 members in 60 counties throughout Pennsylvania.

Verbal commitment of organized support from AFSCME, PA Council 13.

Father was a founding member of his union in Harbor Creek Township. Mother is a UE Local 506 retiree. Brother is a Carpenter’s Apprentice Carpenter’s Local 81 in Erie.

Have the endorsement of many elected officials, Democratic Committee people, and labor leaders.

Earned the reputation as someone who is a proud Democrat who doesn’t betray the Democratic cause while at the same time I’ve been able to work with my colleagues across the political aisle-that’s the type of representative we need in Washington.
